Ingredients
1.5 lb Bread Loaf Recipe
  • 1⅛ cups Water
  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup Quinoa Flour
  • 2 ½ cups White Flour
  • 1 ½ tsp Active Dry Yeast
2 lb Bread Loaf Recipe:
  • 1 ½ cups Water
  • ⅓ cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 ½ tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup Quinoa Flour
  • 3 ¼ cups White Flour
  • 2 tsp Active Dry Yeast
Instructions
  1. Firstly check your machine is set up and in working order. Once you have all the ingredients you can begin.
  2. Follow the instructions for your bread machine regarding order of loading ingredients. It is important thing is to keep the yeast away from any liquid or the salt until it is put into the bread machine. The best method is to put the liquids in first and then follow with the dry ingredients. Once the ingredients are in the machine select “light” for the crust and press the mix button.
  3. It is essential that you learn to read the dough and get a feel for the correct consistency. Lift the lid after ten minutes, or more frequently to see how the dough is looking. It should be forming a nice elastic ball but if the dough appears too moist then add flour a tablespoon at a time. If it is too dry then add a tablespoon of water at a time. Then mix again until the dough has a good consistency.
  4. Once you have decided the dough is ready to bake you can set the machine to basic. Now you can leave the machine to do it’s job and come back once it beeps. Carefully remove the loaf and place it on to a wire rack.
  5. Tips and Suggestions: Instead of adding quinoa flour, it is also possible to add raw quinoa. The raw quinoa must first be cooked, by boiling in water for five minutes. It should be added to the mixture at the same time as everything else. This bread is perfect for breakfast as it is high in protein and fiber.
