Brioche Bread Machine Recipe

  • 1¾ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1¾ cups bread flour
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup water
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2⅓ cups bread flour
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  1. Before you start the baking process, you should check that your bread machine is in working order and that you have all the ingredients that you will need. For this particular recipe the utensils you will need will be the bread machine’s baking pan, dough pen and kneading paddles.
  2. Now place the ingredients into the bread machine in the order they are listed in the ingredients. All the ingredients should go in apart from the butter. After ten minutes inspect the mixture. Use a spoon to decide whether the dough is too wet or too dry. If it is too dry add water or flour if it is to wet, to create the right consistency.
  3. At the same time as checking the dough, cut the butter into small pieces and begin adding piece by piece after the bread machine. It is important not to rush this process. Now put the bread on basic, light crust cycle.
  4. When the machine has finished baking the bread you should open the lid. Leave the lid open and let the bread cool within the machine for at least twenty minutes. This will keep the edges of the bread firm but the center moist. Now remove the bread and serve!
If you wish to make the original brioche recipe then just use the bread machine to form dough. Once it has done this place it onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times. Then separate into small pieces and shape to form a ball. Place onto a parchment lined baking tray. Allow it rise in a warm area until double the size. Brush the tops with egg yolk and place in a preheated oven (180 degrees C). Allow to bake for 20 minutes.
