Mexican Sweet Bread Machine Recipe

2 lb. Loaf Recipe:
  • 1⅓ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup margarine
  • 1⅓ egg
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • 4 cups strong flour
  • 2 tsps. yeast
1.5 lb Loaf Recipe:
  • 250ml (1 cup) milk
  • 65ml (¼ cup) margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 55g (¼ cup) sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 750ml (3 cups) strong flour
  • 1½ tsps. yeast
  1. Before starting a new baking project you have to be sure that you have all the necessary equipment. Check your bread machine is working and has all the accessories you need. For this recipe you have to have a machine baking pan, kneading paddles and cooling rack.
  2. Now it is time to set the crust setting. This bread requires either a “light” or “normal” setting, which will provide a nice golden crust.
  3. Now that the machine is ready, you shall begin putting the ingredients in the order they are listed above, into the baking pan. Now close the lid and select the knead button. Be aware that some machines will do this automatically.
  4. The bread maker will mix for ten minutes and then you may open the lid and halt the kneading. Use a utensil; it is time to test the dough. If it seems too sticky add one tablespoon of flour at a time. If it is too dry add one tablespoon of water at a time.
  5. Now it is time to set the machine to “basic” and wait for the loaf to cook. When it has finished, take out the bread and put it onto a cooling rack.
Tips and Suggestions – This bread tastes extra nice by dusting the top with cinnamon.
