Ingredients
2 lb. Loaf Recipe
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1⅔ teaspoons yeast
Filling
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1⅓ tablespoon butter
  • Sifted powdered sugar
1.5 lb. Loaf Recipe
  • ¾ cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons yeast
Filling
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup chopped pecans
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Sifted powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. To begin; select the dough cycle on the machine. Once this is complete and you have checked that the dough has a decent consistency, then remove it. Punch the dough down and allow it to rest somewhere.
  2. Meanwhile you can be making the filling. To make the filling, mix the brown sugar with the nuts and cinnamon. Then set this mix aside.
  3. Now on a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle, which is approximately 14x9 inch. Now you can spread it with a tablespoon of butter, and the filling that you have already prepared.
  4. Now you will have to roll the dough so that the filling is on the inside. Starting from the short side, roll the dough to form a Swiss roll shape. Now you should place this into a greased loaf pan and cover. Let it rise in a warm place, until nearly doubled in size. This will take about 30 minutes.
  5. The oven should be preheated to bake at 350ºF for approximately 30 minutes or until bread sounds hollow when tapped gently. If you feel the bread is browning on the top and may burn before the inside is cooked then you can cover with foil during the last 10 minutes of cooking. Now remove from the oven and place on a wire rack. To serve, sprinkle with the powdered sugar.
Notes
Tips and Suggestions – This tastes delicious at thanksgiving or Christmas. The warm cinnamon flavor is really homely and comforting. The kids will absolutely love making this because it involves getting a bit messy! To make it a little healthier you could consider adding mashed banana to the filling. The banana really compliments the cinnamon.
