Ingredients
2lb Loaf Recipe:
  • 1¼ cups buttermilk, warmed slightly
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 cups white bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1.5 lb. Loaf Recipe
  • 1 cups buttermilk, warmed slightly
  • 1 ½ tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 cups white bread flour
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
Instructions
  1. For this recipe you will need a working bread machine. Lay out all your ingredients and switch on the machine. Make sure that you have read all the manufacturer’s instructions on how to use your bread machine correctly.
  2. You need to mix all the wet ingredients together in the bread pan. Then stir all the dry ingredients together in a bowl (apart from the yeast) and spoon them over the top of all the liquid ingredients that are in the bread ban. Now you can tip the yeast over dry ingredients but try to avoid allowing it to touch the sides of the pan.
  3. Selecting the knead button wait 5 minutes. Then open the bread maker to assess the mixture’s consistency. If the mix is too runny you will have to add flour to it, and if it is too dry you should add a tablespoon of water. It won’t take long to get the perfect dough. Now select the white bread option and wait for the bread to bake. When the bread machine has finished its cycle, cautiously remove the bread and place it on a wire rack to cool down.
Notes
Tips and Suggestions – To make rolls using this recipe, put all the ingredients in the bread pan and use the dough cycle and then knead again. Take the dough out of the machine and shape into rolls. Place under a damp towel in a warm place and allow rising until doubled in size. Brush with an egg wash and then this should be baked at 375°F until browned. Also a lovely idea is to sprinkle with seeds of your choosing; poppy, caraway, or sesame.

    Love this recipe. I have made it half a dozen times and it always comes out great. Instead of using buttermilk I will sometimes put some vinegar in milk and it works just as good. Gave it 5 stars!
