Ingredients
2lb. Loaf Recipe
  • 1¼ cup water
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1½ tablespoons vegetable oil (canola or peanut oil is preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar
  • 2¼ cups bread flour
  • 1¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup organic flax seeds
  • 2½ teaspoons active dry yeast
1.5 lb. Loaf Recipe
  • 1 cup water
  • 1¼ teaspoons salt
  • 1¼ tablespoons vegetable oil (canola or peanut oil is preferred)
  • 1½ tablespoons raw sugar
  • 1¾ cups bread flour
  • 1⅛ cup whole wheat flour
  • ⅛ cup organic flax seeds
  • 1¾ teaspoons active dry yeast
Instructions
  1. Be sure that all of your cooking areas and utensils are clean. Gather all of your ingredients so that they are within reach. All ingredients should be room temperature for this bread machine recipe. To begin, add all ingredients to the bread pan, except for the yeast and in the order that they are listed. Using your fingers, create an indentation in the dry ingredients for the yeast. The goal is to add the yeast but keep it dry. This will keep the yeast from activating prematurely.
  2. On the bread machine, select the whole wheat cycle. Choose the loaf size and crust color that you desire. Check the dough and adjust the water amount if necessary.

Remember that when yeast is the last ingredient being added, it is important to keep it dry.
